UPDATED: A power cut is affecting homes and businesses in and around Wootton this morning (Tuesday).
In total 147 postcode areas have been affected by the outage, which hit at around 07:30.
Southern and Scottish Electricity Networks say they are working to restore power to customers and aim to have the electricity supply back on by 09:30.
The postcodes hit include PO33 4; PO33 3; PO33 2 and PO32 6.

UPDATE @ 09:04 – The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance on Palmers Road, Wootton alongside engineers from SSEN. 1 appliance from Newport is currently on scene.
Power has now been restored to a large number of customers, but supply isn’t expected to be fully returned until 15:00.
UPDATE @ 12:15 – Power has been restored to all properties, according to SSEN.
The company have thanked Islanders for their patience.
