44-year-old David Warner has been sentenced to more than 5 years in prison and a further 5 years on extended licence for robbing St Helens Post Office back in May of this year.
Warner, of Field Lane, was arrested by Police on 23rd May after he walked into his local post office and threatened staff with a 6 inch knife. Although he made off with over £500 in cash, officers quickly arrested Warner at his home less than half a mile away.
Appearing before Portsmouth Crown Court this morning (Friday), Warner was handed down a sentence of 64 months for robbery and possessing a knife in a public place, with a further 5 years on extended licence – a total sentence of 10 years and 4 months.
