Concerns that a serial poisoner has returned to Parkhurst Forest near Newport have been raised after a dog died and another suffered a seizure.
Yesterday (Sunday) a dog had to be rushed to the vets after consuming something poisonous during a walk at Parkhurst, which resulted in the animal having a seizure.
Thankfully, the dog is now making a recovery but its owner is urging other dog walkers to be careful when visiting the area.
It’s claimed that the veterinary surgery had already seen another dog that sadly died after ingesting something toxic at Parkhurst earlier in the week.
It was in November 2020 that Police launched an investigation after rat poison was located around the Marks Corner area of Parkhurst Forest, causing immense pain and suffering to animals.
The placing of poison is an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, the Protection of Animals Act 1911 and the Animal Welfare Act 2006.

Dogs are loving animals, they do not do people any harm.
Well an ex-islander dog walker in Surrey recently might argue that one. But yes this is a vile thing to do. Society is breaking down.

One shouldn’t get too personal on social platforms but I’m shaking with rage that this vile evil person would do such a thing. I am a animal lover so this is absolutely heartbreaking. To the person, you are a coward, you live a pathetic lonely existence. Do us a favour little person and go to sleep permanently.
Whoever this sick in the head bas#ard is, they need to found. This person maybe doesn’t like dogs, but it is so cruel to do this not only to a dog but a fox or badger will die a very slow painful death when ingested.
Whoever you are, stop before you kill anymore dogs.
My family had a similar experience twice while walking their dog around the area by the Monument at Carisbrooke. The dog collapsed and had to spend the night at the vets.
They said it had ingested something.
We wondered if it was cannabis discarded in a cigarette.

Dog owners/walkers why are you still going there?? It’s been known to have a serial poisoner for such a long time & it’s shows that the police’s intervention is not working! I really wouldn’t risk taking my dog there again until the evil individual(s) are caught….Take them somewhere else for their sake as well as yours!
