A popular Isle of Wight marching band is appealing to members of the public to help fund the repairs to its Luton van – which helps members travel to various performances in locations all over the country.
Medina Marching Band’s van suffered a mechanical malfunction which has been priced at approximately £5,000 to repair. With little income generated over the past 18 months, the band is hoping that members of the public may get behind their fundraising appeal.
A GoFundMe page has been setup with hopes that at least some of the total will be raised.
A message posted on it reads:
“Do you want to join us in making a difference? With very little income over the last 18 Months due to the Covid -19 pandemic every donation will help.
“We require the van to keep us on the road just as we start our busy period of gigs this has come at a bad time, just as we have restarted and very little income due to no events all cancelled from Covid-19 over the last 18 months your donation can make a difference.”
If you want to help Medina Marching Band get back on the road, you can find the donation page here.

£5000! What garage do they go to! Don’t think iv ever seen a bill over £2000 for a transit repair bill in my 10 years of owning a garage and 20 years in the trade!
Decimal point in the wrong place, i think.
05 plate, maybe chucking good money at a money pit.
