A multi agency operation was launched last night (Friday) after a man threatened to jump off Ryde Pier.
Police and HM Coastguard were called to the pier off Ryde Esplanade shortly before midnight following reports of a man in distress. Ryde Inshore Rescue were also tasked to the incident.
Thankfully, officers talked the man down and took him to a place of safety.
