Police descended on a quiet residential street in Winford this morning (Friday) following the discovery of a man’s body in questionable circumstances.
5 units responded to a block of flats on Forest Way at just gone 08:00, alongside 2 ambulances from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Officers conducted initial on scene investigations before concluding the death to be non-suspicious in nature.
A detective from Newport CID was also called out.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the death of a 68-year-old man is being treated as unexpected and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
The man’s next of kin have been informed.

Now why would two ambulances turn up for a dead body, or was it a “private ambulance” with handy body bags. And, 5 units turned up! For one thing, how did they get there with all the road works in that area and why 5 of them?
Must be a communication problem because the control Center is somewhere over the water eh?
They dare not go on there own.
Such a numpty with no knowledge of how emergency services respond to such events. Not worth wasting effort to explain further. FYI control centre is in Newport.
For your information all calls go to Hampshire not to Newport. So before you call someone a numpty find out the right information first you NUMPTY.
