Platform One continues to go from strength to strength despite such a challenging year, with the college’s higher education students receiving the best results ever achieved.
The Newport-based music college has been working in partnership with the University of Chichester since 2012, delivering the only full-time undergraduate programme to ever run on the Isle of Wight. Written by Platform One, the BA (Hons) Commercial Music degree offers a diverse range of subjects that interface directly with the modern music industry.
This year, 6 students received a First Class Honours degree at the University of Chichester graduation ceremony that took place on 18th August. 12 students gained a Class 2/Division 1 (2:1) result. These are the best results ever achieved since the programme launched in 2012.
Peter Pontin – Platform One Director & Academic Advisor, has said:
“We are so proud of each and every student. This has been a challenging time and students have been so resilient. We look forward to seeing another cohort of students launch their creative careers. Such incredible results.”
Dr. Mark Mason – Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Chichester commented:
“It was wonderful to have Platform One directors, colleagues and the amazing Platform One students at the graduation – we are so grateful for and appreciative of our partnership”.
Congratulations to everyone. Platform One is a great avenue for those with musical ambitions.
