A pensioner who sexually assaulted and took intimate photographs of a woman whilst she was unconscious is to be sentenced next month.
Edward Addison, 77, of no fixed abode, admitted sexual assault on a female and recording an image under clothing when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court – via video link from HMP Isle of Wight – on Tuesday morning (8th October).
Addison also admitted 3 charges of making indecent photo/pseudo-photograph of a child between 2nd February and 14th April 2024.
Lauren McConnell, prosecuting, told the court that on 10th May this year, at an address in Sandown, a woman collapsed and fell down a set of stairs. Addison then proceeded to sexually assault the female, placing his hand down her trousers.
The court heard how the female was falling in and out of consciousness but that she was able to feel Addison’s knuckles on her pubic bone and heard a camera shutter before then coming round, just as paramedics arrived. The woman told paramedics that she had been assaulted by Addison and the Police were duly notified.
Searches of Addison’s devices found that he had taken 6 images of the female – whilst she was unconscious – on his tablet. Also found on Addison’s devices were 3x Category A, 7x Category B and 23x Category C indecent images of children.
Addison was previously handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) back in 2016 by Chester Crown Court.
Defending Addison, Oscar Vincent told the court that his client had entered guilty pleas on a full facts basis.
Magistrates deemed their sentencing powers not sufficient enough and so the case was adjourned until 13th November.
Addison is also due to be sentenced for unrelated matters later this month.
This seems to be one dangerous individual and be banned from having any photography equipment, whether owned, rented or borrowed. He should be given a pill, (If there is one) to take away all of his sexual urges or to inject him for the same reason. All the “Holier than thou” brigade will bleat on about his human rights. But is any thought given to his victims human rights???? This scum is not human anyway, behaving like he does. Let him be clear, that if he reoffends, they will be surgically removed and used for earrings.
What planet are you on? Pills for gods sakes…. He just needs locking up, simple. just because our judiciary are woefully inadequate in terms of sentencing, we do NOT have the right to inflict harm on anyone.
