A cordon was erected on a residential street in Newport overnight after an assault on a 49-year-old man.
Police were called to the incident at a caravan in Beech Road at around 01:20 this morning (Saturday).
It’s said a man was punched to the face several times and assaulted by another man inside the caravan.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries, which include a fractured nose and an injury to his eye.
Officers are investigating the incident and no one has been arrested at this stage.
The cordon at the junction with Ash Road has now been lifted.
