Isle of Wight organisations that support young people will receive a share of thousands of pounds raised in honour of the late Ray Scovell.
Ray, who sadly died from COVID-19 on 19th January, was known as ‘Mr Athletics’ for all the work he did across the Island to support people of all ages and abilities.
A fundraising page was recently set up with a goal of £2,000. However, the generosity of Islanders has seen the running total hit £3,170.
Claire Apsey, Ray’s daughter, says:
“We have been totally overwhelmed by the love, support and kind words from so many people.
“As many of you are aware Ray’s passion was support the youth on the Island and we would love to continue Dad’s legacy in his honour”.
