An Oakfield man who allegedly punched a teenage boy in the face whilst attempting to rob him in Sandown over the weekend has been remanded in custody.
Harry White, 22, of Reed Street in Oakfield, Ryde, appeared before Magistrates yesterday (Tuesday) charged with attempted robbery and 2x assault of an emergency worker.
No pleas were entered for any of the charges.
It is alleged that on Sunday afternoon (12th March), White approached 2 boys on Avenue Road in Sandown asking them for some tobacco.
White was told no and left the area before it is claimed he returned to the scene and attempted to steal a gold chain from 1 of the children. It is then alleged White punched the teen in the face.
The 22-year-old is to appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 17th April.
He has been remanded in custody until that time.
Always has always will have the most crime as most all the children are results of accidental birth, not really wanted, apart from the roof and income ‘having a kid’ provides for the parent, and more rarely the ‘parents’.
Funding a better life for those who have children needs to end, so ONLY wanted children are born.
Tax credits et al need to be ended, and make having a child, as it used to be, you need to work more hours, NOT less, as it is now, and then gain free rent, food, c.tax and have most of the week off to do as you please.
This just encourages the dim womb owners to not worry if such is filled by a provider, or, as in Oaky, a low life Chav.
Honestly, the staggering degree of stupid in this comment beggars belief.
Very, very few have kids for the benefits. They have kids for all sorts of reasons, ranging from genuinely wanting them, accidental pregnancies, to having one because it’s what their friends are doing.
You cut the benefits they will still have the kids. The difference is they will end up being taken into care, which will cost the taxpayer more and produces a higher proportion of adults who have criminal records.
But, hey, if that’s what you want.

I agree, lived on a council estate although my property was owned. Neighbours letting kids as young as 6 roam the area before 7am. Knocking your door could you lend me £20 I have no electric …. no gas….
You do it once it’s a constant thing. You see them bringing the stolen goods back under buggies.

Did visit a friend down prowneway sandown last weekend and all I can say is I feel for the shop employees kids as young as 8 stuffing sweets in pockets.
I went to sandown High. I visited this shop many a times and we never spoke to shop owners the way kids do these days.

What is needed here is the following… Tie him to a frame on Ryde seafront, where lots of people can gather to watch and then proceed to flog him to within an inch of his life. What an utter low-life. I know some Asian countries are excessive with punishments but they don’t have little morons like this roaming about looking for a weak target because everyone knows that the consequences of getting caught are going to be extremely painful. Our snowflake society causes more problems than it solves. Flog them and watch crimes of aggression disappear. Fact.
I think national service. I also believe teachers should have more power over the children than what they have. I spoke to my niece last week she is 13. She says children leave school premises, punishment suspend a day or 2 BONUS.
They swear at teachers slam doors in faces of teachers and lay hands on teachers. Again punishment is a week off BONUS AGAIN …..
This is disgusting I’d report the little buggers to police and get them into young offenders. Take the benefits from the parents and make there life’s inside hell. They will learn and so will the parents
