Isle of Wight band Naked Fridays will be playing an exclusive gig on board Wightlink’s flagship St Clare tomorrow (Thursday) on the first day of the Isle of Wight Festival.
The four piece electronic rock act won the Wight Noize competition hosted by Platform One College of Music earlier this month and as a result will open the main stage at 11:45 on Sunday.
When music lovers at Wightlink heard about Naked Fridays’ success, they were quick to offer the guys the chance to entertain some of the tens of thousands of festival goers who will cross the Solent over the next few weeks through a special warm-up gig.
Wightlink’s Media Relations Manager, Chris Cowley, said:
“We are delighted to welcome this talented band on board to help them reach a wider audience.
“Customers lucky enough to hear them play on the St Clare this week will be able to boast in years to come that they saw them before they were famous.”
Naked Fridays will be performing on the 11:00 and 13:00 sailings from Portsmouth to Fishbourne.
Naked Fridays is made up of Michael Furniss from Niton (guitar), Reuben Mowle from Freshwater (lead singer and synth), Chris Hannon from Freshwater (bass) and Tom Silk from Cowes (drums).
The band recently released their music video to ‘Colour of Magic’, produced by Tyler Frankling and Mitchell Ward, which can be viewed below.
