34-year-old Stacy Bartlett has been fined £80 after pleading guilty to possession of a Class B drug.
Bartlett, of High Street, Oakfield, appeared before Magistrates on Tuesday charged with 1 count of possession of a controlled substance – cannabis.
The court heard that a warrant was issued to search the 34-year-old’s home on 9th March with Police officers finding 4 grams of cannabis in a locked safe at her home.
The mother of 4 was previously been found guilty of similar drug offences earlier this year.
In defence, Mr Henry Farley stated his client only smoked when her children were asleep and kept the substance in the safe so they couldn’t get to it. He then added that Bartlett suffers from multiple mental health issues including; anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder, and uses it to help her sleep stating she was also hoping to receive a prescription for it on medical grounds.
She was fined £80 and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £34 surcharge fee.

You know that for a fact. If that was the case the uk canna clinics wouldn’t prescribe to mental health but it’s one of the top reasons they do prescribe for..not for psychotic episodes but anxiety and depression they certainly do.. get educated before commenting

well – all those that have chosen the benefit lifestyle are about to find out what it really means…
we have lived through about 40 years of relatively mild inflation. With inflation back, hitting hard and going to be a feature of the future, for some time to come, as this is the next part of the economic cycle we are in now, those that chose benefits and have zero savings or no ability to increase their income through their own earning power are going to be going without and suffering poverty – the sky will go, the mobiles will go, the holidays will be gone.

So much ignorance. I am a legal cannabis patient. I have to pay for the consultant and then 3 monthly follow ups. My actual medication is not paid for by the NHS ( yet) I pay between £300-£600 pm for the legal laboratory produced medication. I am a veteran of both military and emergency services who suffers chronic pain and PTSD as a result of that service. I am medically retired and severely disabled because of it as well. Yet I still have to pay out of my war disablement pension. NOTHING is free so check your facts and try not to be some self important judgemental keyboard warrior and know it all.
Also, there are kids who suffer tens of seizures every day. Medical cannabis has virtually stopped those seizures. Yet, the NHS still doesn’t contribute a single penny toward the crippling cost of this vital and life changing medication so wind your neck in.
Correct educated momma – and the stupid thing is that if a man wakes up one morning and thinks he is a female, the NHS will pay for him to be medically castrated and provide him with HRT to make him look like a woman, instead of keeping it for actual women, which contributes to the shortage of HRT we have now.
