Concerns for the welfare of an individual have led the Police, Coastguard and the RNLI to respond to both Culver Down and Seaview.
It was just before 10:50 this morning (Thursday) that HM Coastguard mobilised 2 Coastguard Rescue Teams, from Bembridge and Ventnor, to Culver Down near Bembridge.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary also responded to the East Wight beauty spot.
At the same time, Bembridge RNLI’s All Weather and Inshore lifeboats were made ready for immediate launch.
However, new information led to the emergency teams redeploying to Seaview Duver. Bembridge’s All Weather Lifeboat launched, making best speed around the coast.
It has been confirmed that the individual at the centre of the incident has since been located near to Salterns in Seaview.
