MP Bob Seely has met with frontline NHS staff to hear more about how the services they deliver have evolved throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and their longer-term plans.
During his visit Mr Seely met with paramedics, the Patient Transport Service, lead clinicians and took a tour of the 111 and 999 call handling service.
He said:
“I am grateful to the Ambulance Service for inviting me to meet with them and I was glad to be able to thank them.
“Our ambulance crews, along with other frontline NHS staff, do a very important job, especially so during the pandemic. I thank them very much for their work.
“I will be working closely with the service – and the NHS Trust – to ensure that both the NHS and Government is listening to their ideas and requests for support.”
Darren Cattell, Deputy Chief Executive at Isle of Wight NHS Trust said:
“Colleagues in our Ambulance Service and our partners have worked incredibly hard throughout the pandemic and we welcomed the opportunity to talk about the challenges the service has faced and what they have achieved for our community.
“The Ambulance Service is a vital part of the NHS on the Island and I join Bob in praising the hard work and dedication of our staff.”

Hypocrite. Lockdown breaker praising the NHS, what a laugh, why don’t you ask the hospital why they are running out of PPE for staff. That’s one of the reasons visitors are not welcome in the hospital now, not just because of covid figures on the rise, and now with all these damn scooterists down here polluting the air the figures will jump rapidly, not to mention the air quality dropping, but no one dare challenge that will they.
What a nasty vile bigot you are .
Not at all, I just say it how it is, if that’s being a bigot, then so be it.
You clearly need a few Happy Pills
nah I don’t need those at all. Just contented being a so called bigot hahahaha
Mp meets people at work.
For once,,, I agree with Bob ,,, our Ambulance and NHS staff are amazing
So amazing that they left a disabled elderly man 4 hours waiting lying in the road heavily bleeding from his head 2 minutes away from the hospital in Newport when he came off his mobility scooter and it landed on top of him.My friend working in a nearby shop sat with him and used several towels from her shop to try to stem the bleeding. They were too busy roaring around in empty ambulances with sirens on pretending there’s a deadly pandemic still
They do not go roaring around in empty ambulances , they haven’t got that many ambulances on the island ,p to cope with the amount of emergencies and with all the visitors here they must be rushed of there feet. They may well had been on there way to him ,when they would be sent of to someone who is in need of more urgent treatment .
Sue, You are a total di_k. The people on the frontline trucks work non-stop on 12 hour shifts. They only go to where ambulance control send them. The amount of time wasters ambulance put up with, going to false alarms and idiots calling for boo boos and hurty fingers, I challenge you to go to the station and try a 12 hour trauma shift. Failing that, shut your pathetic mouth, or maybe meet me at the station and I’ll tell you to your face.
