UPDATED: A motorcyclist has received multiple injuries following a collision between a motorcycle and a car at Smallbrook this evening (Wednesday).
A white Toyota Starlet SR collided with a blue motorcycle on the notorious roundabout on the outskirts of Ryde shortly before 17:25.
Island Echo understands the male motorcyclist has received injuries to his leg and a suspected fractured pelvis.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area with long tailbacks in all directions.
UPDATE @ 21:30 – The busy junction has now re-opened after being closed earlier this evening, indicating the serious nature of the incident.
It is understood the rider has survived the collision, however has received life-changing injuries.
