A motorcyclist sustained minor injuries as a result of a collision with a HGV on the Wightlink ferry last night (Friday). Police and paramedics were called to the Fishbourne ferry terminal at just gone 19:00 following reports of a collision on board St Faith, which had just crossed the Solent from Portsmouth. It’s said that a HGV and a motorcycle were both involved in the low-speed collision. The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service mobilised an ambulance and rapid response paramedic to the scene. At the same time, resources were also being mobilised to a road traffic collision at Apse Heath, as previously reported by Island Echo. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that its officers attended the Wightlink terminal and that the motorcyclist escaped any serious injury.
