Police and paramedics are tending to at least 1 motorcyclist following a crash on one of the Island’s main arterial routes this lunchtime (Sunday).
The incident has taken place at Binfield on the outskirts of Newport, where Fairlee Road becomes Racecourse.
Traffic is backing up in both directions with motorists urged to divert via Staplers Road in both directions.
UPDATE – The incident scene has now been cleared.
Motor bike again. A bit of strait road and open the throttle and go pass all the cars, normally on the wrong side of the road.
Before you speculate, I was two cars behind when the incident occurred and the bikes where on the correct side of the road , seemed startled before losing balance.

i was a few cars behind both the bikes were driving perfectly, it was the unmarked police vehicle trying to over take vehicles which caused the accident neither of the bikers did anything wrong. bad weather conditions didnt help

from two cars behind, rider seemed to be driving safe, accidents occur whenever, could have hit a pot hole. “Bad driving” isn’t always the case.
yeah by the unmarked police car as no one was pulling over the police was trying to squeeze through traffic which ended up with the rider loosing control not their fault at all
