The main road connecting Ryde to Sandown has been closed at Brading due to the River Yar flooding the carriageway. Morton Common has been closed by Island Roads in both directions this morning (Wednesday) due to the high water levels. This latest flooding means that motorists are having to divert via Yaverland again – for at least the 4th time this Winter. A spokesperson for Island Roads has said:
“We are continually monitoring and will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. “Please take extra care driving in these conditions”.
