Bembridge RNLI and Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team rushed to Whitecliff Bay earlier this evening (Saturday) over fears a dog owner may have got into difficulties searching for their missing pet.
The Spaniel went missing from Culver Down a short time before concerns were raised that the dog’s owner and family would get into difficulties searching for it around the rocky coast.
At the request of Solent Coastguard the D-class inshore lifeboat from Bembridge was launched, with shore-based officers from the local Coastguard Rescue Team also tasked to the scene.
Thankfully, the dog was reunited with its owner by the Coastguard officers.
‘Norman Harvey’ was stood down and rehoused at Lane End by 18:00.
