UPDATED: MEDICAL EMERGENCY SEES AIR AMBULANCE SCRAMBLED TO WHIPPINGHAM

The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been scrambled to Whippingham this morning (Saturday) in response to an ongoing medical emergency in the area. Scrambled from its Thruxton base at around 10:00, the helicopter made the journey over the Solent circling the skies above Whippingham before touching down in a field within the Barton Estate. On the ground, resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are in the immediate vicinity tending to the casualty. UPDATE @ 11:30 – The patient has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
