A Lithuanian man who tried to rob a woman in the car park of St Mary’s Hospital has been convicted of attempted robbery.
On Tuesday 7th December 2022, a 62-year-old woman was approached by 47-year-old Nerijus Suminskas in the North Car Park of St Mary’s Hospital as she left the building.
Suminskas grabbed hold of the woman and a struggle ensued before Suminskas put his hand in her bag. However, he did not manage to steal anything.
The victim called out for help and 2 members of the public came to her aid, 1 of which detained Suminskas at the scene until Police arrived and arrested him.
Suminskas, of no fixed abode, was subsequently charged with attempted robbery, which he admitted when he appeared at Isle of Wight Crown Court yesterday (Monday).
He was remanded in custody to appear at the same court for sentencing on 24th February.

Why northern, send them to Russia
