An Island man who tried to bite his own mother on the head after demanding her purse and bank card is to be sentenced next month. Joshua Green, 34, of HMP Isle of Wight appeared by video link at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court last week (Friday 19th January) charged with common assault by beating and criminal damage to property valued under £5,000. Green entered guilty pleas to all charges. Liz Miller, prosecuting, told the court that on the evening of 14th January, at an address in East Cowes, Green and his own mother became embroiled in a verbal exchange in which the 34-year-old was demanding the use of her purse and bank card. Green then leaned forward opening his mouth and attempted to bite her on the head. Whilst waiting for the Police to arrive, Green became agitated and smashed a bottle of vodka on the wall, the bottle of spirit smashing all over the floor. Damage was also caused to the bannisters and spindles on the stairs inside the property. The court heard how back in January 2023, Green was handed an 18-month community order for offences of a similar nature. Defending Green, Oscar Vincent told the court that Green and his mum had a long history of altercations and then subsequent reconciliations. He also added that despite the ‘bite’ there was no complaint of any injury. Magistrates adjourned the case until 9th February when Green will appear before a judge at the Isle of Wight Crown Court. He has been remanded in custody until that time.

We all have had our differences with family members at one point or another. But, physically abusive or threatening behaviour is a HUGE NO NO. Never. If you can’t handle your drink, which sounds like it is definitely part of the issue here, then don’t bloody drink, Muppet. I know you won’t be able to read this statement due to being in custody and then most likely straight to jail. However when ever your name is searched for in Google etc this will pop up for ever. Enjoy your sentence.

I think you over-estimate the power of google and under estimate the number of “Joshua Green’s” there are .
However, in by adding “Isle of Wight” to your search,.. it gets more interesting..(this is all public record)
January 2020 suspended sentence for possession of a knife in public and using threatening words or behaviour
August 2020: eight months in prison after ‘karate kicking’ his own mother
January 2022: jailed for ten weeks for grabbing and squeezing his mother’s throat
July 2022: fined £80 for causing public disorder in the street

methinks he doesn’t learn!
And that’s why the courts should take no notice when a victim “hasn’t complained” about attackstjat have taken place. Its likely a victim is in fear of more attacks if she complains. She needs individual support and counselling in order to appreciate what choices she now has.
He needs to be banned from living with his mother and to keep away from her completely. The trouble is that it is probably a Sheridan and Hyacinth situation and she will put up with anything

Google his name. He’s a thug and handy with his fists. His solicitor says there is a history of arguments and reconcilliation? No, there is a history of a man in his prime attacking his own mother repeatedly over many years. No doubt he’ll be let off. Have him move in with the judge, see how that pans out.

He’s been terrorising her for years by all accounts. He’s a one man crime wave. Wait for the sob story in court, and then he’ll go home and repeat the beatings. It’ll continue until he kills her.
