Police are appealing for witnesses after a reported £300 shoplifting from Tesco Extra in Ryde.
On Monday 12th January, between 20:20 and 20:25, a man reportedly entered Tesco Extra on Brading Road and left the store without paying for bottles of spirits, reported to be worth around £300.
Following enquiries, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is now able to share an image of a man who the force believes may be able to assist with the investigation into this incident.
He is described as white, 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in tall with a grey beard. He was wearing a two-tone baseball cap (white and brown in colour), black jacket with dark grey sleeves, dark knee high shorts, black Nike shoes with white tick logo.
If you recognise this man or were in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, call 101 and quote 44260017491.
Additionally, officers would like to hear from you if you have CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell camera footage that may assist. A spell in jail might help focus his mind… …
With the white knuckles there, you can already see he is holding on to that trolley for dear life!
Almost 3 weeks to publish the photo? Probably a mainlander who’s well gone. Why is there always a long delay? The photos of these pathetic examples of the human race should be out in the media within hours. At least there is a slim chance they might be arrested although a slap on the wrist is probably all they would receive.
Where on earth was security. I have been stopped on occasions ( in error )
they were on to me in a flash.
Maybe they were in on it, otherwise why employ
security if they cannot catch a cold
yet alone a crook.
Lol
More likely a local numpty.
When facial recognition comes along such
crimes should not take place.
With CCTV etc I would have thought Tesco
would have vehicle number plate.
It’s getting to the stage Tesco need to install
Camera’s when entering and exiting the car park
to their store.
Every little helps, this guy is taking the p*ss!
My local Tesco is already using this tech and the managers of the store tell the staff to ignore shop lifters/thieves and not to try and stop them. They stand and watch this going on with the thieves taking the p**s out of them. They say if we are caught, we get a slap on the wrist and we are back doing it again. So think on about your comment, NUMPTY.
Obviously taking Tesco
‘Every little helps’ slogan
to another level
He’s got some bottle.
Is that the best CCTV that Tesco can provide no wonder they get robbed every day with pictures like that
Facial recognition will stop the numpties.
Looks like an housing association tenant
from the clothing.

What a stupid statement !!!!
