A man has been talked down from a railway bridge stretching across the main road between Sandown and Shanklin this evening (Saturday).
Police were called to Lake Hill at around 16:25 when a man was spotted acting suspiciously on the Island Line railway bridge. The incident prompted the temporary closure of the A3055 and the suspension of train services.
Thankfully, the unknown man has now been taken to safety by Police.
The road has reopened in both directions and Island Line trains are running as normal.
