A Torquay man has appeared in court accused of raping a child in Ryde when he was just 10 years old himself.
28-year-old David Holder, of Warren Road in Torquay, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday) charged with a number of historic sexual offences.
It’s alleged that between August 2004 and August 2006, in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, David Holder raped a girl under 13 when he was aged between 10 and 12.
Mr Holder also faces 4 charges of assaulting a girl by penetration with a part of his body, on dates between 2004 and 2012.
David Holder did not enter a plea and will now appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 17th April.
He has been given bail until that time.

they have to sentence using the law at the time, with only the consequences that could have been applied to a ten year old
the law states a juvenile is between 10 and 17 years old so the cps will consider him in that age range at the time of the incident
