More than 3 acres of land with planning permission for 15 detached bungalows has sold at auction, for just over £1million.
The freehold site at Summers Court, Totland was among 167 lots listed across southern England in the latest auction by Clive Emson Auctioneers, regional land and property auctioneers.
Rob Marchant, the firm’s Island auctioneer, said:
“The land was bought in our auction for £1,016,000, having been listed with a guide price of £995,000-plus.
“We are not privy to any plans the new owner may or may not have for the site, which has planning permission for 15 detached bungalows.”
A former church, which pirouetted into a dance studio, fetched £135,000 in a bidding war. Freehold, The Old Parish Rooms building at 18 Grange Road, Shanklin, went for £30,000 more than the lower end of the guide price.
With a guide price of £175,000+, 73 Dudley Road, Ventnor, an end-of-terrace freehold house over 3 storeys and with 4 bedrooms, also sold.
Meanwhile, a vacant leasehold retail unit with a substantial cellar at 31 High Street, Ventnor, fetched £38,000.
The December auction concluded on 11th December, with Clive Emson Auctioneers’ next online auction, the first of 8 in 2026, concluding on 11th February, with bidding live from 48 hours beforehand.
