Photographic calendars compiled by two local photographers have helped to raise £1,000 to go towards a new minibus for the Bembridge community.
The Trustees and Committee of Bembridge Friendship Circle have thanked Steve Warburton and Sienna Anderson for their work in creating the calendars, which feature images of the village’s landmarks and locations, with the sale of the calendars from 2020/21 and 2021/22 generating the funds.
A cheque was presented by Steve and Sienna to Sheila Weedall, who accepted it on behalf of fellow Friendship Circle trustees Margaret Donlon and Marianne Sullivan.
The money will be added to the donations and funds raised over the last few years, along with an IW Foundation grant of £10,000. The new Community Minibus – costing £38,680 – is set to be delivered in a COVID-19 secure manner imminently.
Well done
Shame this council didn’t step in and help out
Totally agree, but then they never put any money into anything which actually works!! and serves a purpose!
