This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 9th September – Friday 13th September 2024
• Haydn Parker, 20, of Denny Gardens in Shanklin, admitted drug driving (THC). He was handed a 12-month driving ban and fined £300. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and £120 surcharge fee.
• Joseph Graham, 18, of St Martin’s Road in Wroxall, admitted driving without a seatbelt, driving without due care and attention and obstruct/resist a constable in the execution of their duty.
• Nina Hoskins, 39, of HMP Bronzefield, admitted 4x theft from a shop. She was handed sentences of 4 weeks custody on each count. She was ordered to pay a £154 victim surcharge fee.
• Mazie Bailey, 21, of Atkinson Drive in Newport, admitted criminal damage to property under £5,000 and common assault. Bailey was handed a 24-month community order with 34 rehabilitation days and a 9-month alcohol treatment requirement attached.
• Anthony Weller, 46, of Sandown Road in Sandown, admitted driving without insurance. He was handed a 6-month driving ban and saw his licence issued for 6 points. He was fined £357 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £143 surcharge fee.
• Jamie Coxon, 33, of Hunnyhill in Newport, admitted 2x drug driving. He was handed a 17-month driving ban and fined £100. He was handed a 12-month community order with 10 rehabilitation days attached. Coxon was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £114 surcharge fee.
• Thomas Kerr, 51, of Station Road in Brading admitted possession of a controlled drug of class- A, possession of a controlled drug of class-B and possession of a knife/bladed article in a public place. He was sent to prison for 145 days and ordered to pay a £154 surcharge.
• Phillip Robbins, 56, of Percy Road in Lake, admitted failing to comply with the notification requirements of the sex offenders register. He was fined £323 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £129 surcharge fee.
• Gary Dauncey, 53, of Cross Lane in Newport, admitted 5x theft from a shop. He was handed an 18-month community order with a 12-month drug rehabilitation review and 30 rehabilitation activity days attached. He was ordered to pay compensation of £840.
• Jade Tigwell, 35, of Godric Road in Newport, admitted 2x drug driving. She was handed a 12-month community order with 10 rehabilitation days attached. She was handed a 17-month driving ban and fined £40 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £114 surcharge fee.
Warrants Issued
• Gavin Price, 50, of Downsview Gardens in Sandown for criminal damage.
• Dominic Crumby, 26, of Daniel Street in Ryde for assault by beating.
