• Danny Carter, 32, of Newport Road, Cowes – drove a Peugeot 206 on Mill Hill Road, Cowes, while over the drink-drive limit with 65 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was fined £600, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £240 surcharge, and was disqualified from driving for 36 months, to be reduced by 36 weeks on completion of a course.
• Neil Horner, 49, of High Street, Ventnor – committed common assault and drove a Mitsubishi on Arthurs Hill, Shanklin, while over the drink-drive limit with 128 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was given a community order including 12 months of alcohol treatment and 35 days of rehabilitation activity, ordered to pay £85 costs, a £114 surcharge and £50 compensation. He was also disqualified from driving for 36 months, to be reduced by 36 weeks on completion of a course.
• Neil Horner, 49, of High Street, Ventnor – committed a second offence of common assault on the same day in Shanklin. He was given a community order with 12 months of alcohol treatment, 35 days of rehabilitation activity, and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
• Jordan Campbell, 32, of HMP Isle of Wight – possessed a mobile phone and sim card inside HMP Isle of Wight without authority. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Michael Gray, 38, of Duver Road, Seaview – drove a vehicle on Church Lane, Ryde, with Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood above the legal limit. He was fined £250, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £100 surcharge, and disqualified from driving for 36 months.
• Keiran Marchant, 30, of Medeway, Lake – committed arson in Lake by setting fire to bin bags of clothing, and on a separate date caused criminal damage to a police van cell. He was given a community order including 90 days of alcohol abstinence, a curfew until 14 December 2025, a 26-day programme and 10 days of rehabilitation activity.
• Gemma Case, 48, of Hogan Road, Newport – stole food worth £8.05 from a shop in Newport. She was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £26 surcharge, and £8.05 compensation.
• Penny Round, 52, of Albert Street, Ryde – used racially aggravated threatening or abusive language intending to cause harassment, alarm or distress. She was given a community order including 15 days of rehabilitation activity and ordered to pay £200 compensation. The sentence was uplifted due to the racial aggravation.
• Trevor Beckett, 54, of Inglewood Park, St Lawrence, Ventnor – drove a vehicle on School Green Road, Freshwater, with Clonazepam in his blood above the legal limit. He was given a 24-month conditional discharge, disqualified from driving for 24 months, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £26 surcharge.
Yet more drink and drug driving on this small island.
Time for more police to police the roads, make our
roads safe for everyone.
Raise extra revenue by charging islandwide permit

Leave the truck at work or rent a yard? They are a bloody dangerous eyesore in residential roads. Residential streets are for pedestrians, cycles and cars not trucks and vans.
Give it a rest man!!! You don’t have to inflict your constant negativity onto the rest of us every single day on every single topic! Nobody cares! Life is too short! Try and get out more but please give us all a much needed break!!!
Completely agree with you. These wretched commercial vehicles parked on pavements and all over residential areas are a menace and downgrade every street they park in. Park the ugly things at work, not home.
