This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 30th September – Friday 4th October 2024
• Matthew George, 48, of High Street, Ryde pleaded guilty to using a handheld mobile phone / device while driving a motor vehicle on a road. He was fined £146 and handed 6 penalty points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Ethan Owen, 30, of HMP Parc, Bridgend pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker. He was ordered to pay £300 compensation.
• Burhan Erkeles, 47, of High Street, Newport pleaded guilty to drug driving (cannabis). He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £369 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £148 surcharge.
• Milo Gayle, 28, of High Street, Wootton pleaded guilty to drug driving (cocaine). He was banned from driving for 40 months, fined £230 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Amber Banham-gage, 22, of George Street, Ryde pleaded guilty to 3 charges of being an individual failing to comply with a community protection notice. She was handed a 4-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Stephen Durkin, 43, of Union Street, Ryde pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £16 surcharge.
• Terence Perkins, 39, of Barton Road, Newport pleaded guilty to obstruct / resist a constable in execution of duty and being drunk and disorderly in a public place. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Sarah Killingback, 47, of Upper Yarborough Road, East Cowes pleaded guilty to 2x using threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour to cause harassment / alarm / distress. She was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £48 surcharge.
