Monday 29th October – Friday 3rd November 2023
• James Hughes, 25, of Flitcroft Gardens, Sandown, pleaded guilty to 2x drug driving. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £450. He was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £180 victim surcharge fee.
• Warren Russell, 40, of HMP Winchester, pleaded guilty to 2x theft from a shop. He was sentenced to 4 weeks in prison (concurrent) and ordered to pay compensation of £351.40.
• Mack Alexander, 25, of Ashey Road in Ryde, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £48 victim surcharge fee.
• Tahir Ishaque, 54, of Shore Road in Bonchurch, pleaded guilty to drug driving. He was ordered to pay costs of £900 and a £114 surcharge fee.
• Lee Hoyle, 45, of Chapel Close in Newport, pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and driving without insurance. He was banned from driving for 6 months and fined £120. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £48 surcharge fee.
• Shanika Bradley, 31, of St John’s Road in Sandown, pleaded guilty to criminal damage to property under £5,000 and assault by beating. She was handed an 18-month community order with 30 rehabilitation activity days attached. She was fined £162 and ordered to pay compensation of £278.
• Alan Patrick, 62, of The Fairway in Sandown, pleaded guilty to 2x common assault and in charge of a motor vehicle – alcohol level above limit. He was handed a 12-month community order with 100 hours of unpaid work attached. He was handed an 120 day driving ban and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £114 victim surcharge fee. For the offences of assault by beating he was ordered to pay compensation of £200.
• Cameron Goodman-Wright, 23, of Prince Street in Ryde pleaded guilty to drug driving and failing to stop. He was handed a 28-month driving ban and was made subject to a 12-month community order with 15 rehabilitation days and 100 hours of unpaid work attached. He was ordered to pay £85 costs with a £114 surcharge.
Rebecca Tuckey, 28, of Hookes Way in Newport, pleaded guilty to threat to damage/destroy property and used threatening abusive words/behaviour. She was handed a 12-month community order with 20 rehabilitation activity days attached. She was ordered to pay an £80 fine and a £114 surcharge fee.
• Ian Wathen, 41, of Barton Road in Newport, pleaded guilty to 2x theft from a shop. He was handed a 12-month community order with a 9-month alcohol treatment requirement and 20 rehabilitation days attached. He was ordered to pay costs of £85 and £20 compensation.
Single-justice procedure cases
• Liam Blake, 32, of Beachfield Road in Sandown, was found guilty of using a motor vehicle without 3rd party insurance. He was fined £440 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge fee of £176 and costs of £90. His licence was endorsed with 6 penalty points. • David Sturton, 63, of The Strand in Ryde, was found guilty of speeding. He was fined £660 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge fee of £264 and costs of £90. His licence was endorsed with 6 penalty points. • George Everest, 33, of Station Road in St Helens, was found guilty of driving without wearing a seatbelt. He was fined £220, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge fee of £88 and costs of £90.
