During the early hours of 28th May, Tommy Barton arrived at Rio Scott’s address on Park Road in Ryde looking to confront Baker. He banged on the door to Number 63A, but there was no answer. He left the area but later returned – having been driven to Ryde by his elderly father Peter Thomas. His Nissan Pixo was left across the road at the top of Dover Street.
It is alleged by the Crown that both Cameron Baker and Rio Scott jointly attacked Mr Barton, stabbing him multiple times in a ‘vicious’ attack that was as ‘swift as it was brutal’. Tommy stumbled away from the property and collapsed in the street. The jury heard he died where he fell, despite Police at the time saying he died whilst en route to hospital.
