A Bristol man has admitted to crashing his car during the early hours of the morning whilst more than 3 times the drink drive limit.
Carmine D’Angelo, 32, of Effingham Road, Bristol pleaded guilty to drink driving when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Charles Nightingale, prosecuting, told the court that in the early hours of 5th March, police were alerted by a passing bus driver to a single vehicle crash on Newport Road, Godshill. They arrived on the scene shortly after 04:00 where they found the defendant walking away from the vehicle – a Jaguar X Type.
When questioned, the sound engineer admitted to drinking, saying, “I f**ked up. Just shoot me in the head”.
In mitigation, the court was told that that the defendant had no relevant previous convictions, had fully cooperated with the investigation and had pleaded guilty at the first available opportunity.
The case was adjourned to Bristol Magistrates Court on 20th April for sentencing. In the meantime, D’Angelo has been handed an interim driving disqualification.
Who gives a shit if he has a clean record, he admits he’s guilty!! So what? Do not come here and think you can drink and drive, you stupid idiot. Ban him from driving, coming here ever again, fine him. End of.
He has previously had a clean record because he hasn’t been caught before, he could have been driving over the limit many times beforehand and not been caught. What a stupid statement, his defence should buy an updated book of excuses.
Really lucky he has not been caught before the most selfish person i know.
