Isle of Wight Golf team manager George Foreman has announced the team who will be representing the Isle of Wight in Guernsey next July.
Dawn Hodge, Lucy Burke, Sophie Beardsall and Catherine Bachelor have been selected for the Ladies’ team.
Dawn Hodge, a team silver medalist in the Gotland Island Games, will be competing in her 3rd games
Lucy Burke was also a team silver medalist in Gotland and will be competing in her 3rd games
Sophie Beardsall is a Ladies’ Golf Island Games legend. Sophie will be competing in her 9th games. She was a silver medalist in Gotland and a winner of 9 medals.
Catherine Bachelor is the 4th member of the Ladies’ team and will be competing in her 1st games.
Ben Guy, Chris Hayward, Darren Masterton and Nat Riddett have all been selected for the men’s team.
Ben Guy is the current Island Champion. This will be Guy’s 1st Island Games.
Chris Hayward has had a fantastic year to gain his spot and will be competing in his 1st Island Games.
Darren Masterton continues to be one of the Island’s best golfers and will be competing in his 5th Games.
Nat Riddett, who is currently the Island’s number 1 ranked golfer, will get to compete in his 2nd Games.
George Foreman thanked Brian Price and Kate Palfrey, for their support in helping out with fundraising and selecting the team. He also thanked Jackie Mouat for her support and Wayne Mathews from Yokogawa Marex Ltd for sponsoring the team shirts.
