Getting from the Isle of Wight to destinations across the UK is now simpler than ever, thanks to through-ticketing from Hovertravel, Southern Vectis and National Express.
Customers travelling from Newport, Cowes, Ventnor, Sandown and Shanklin can now purchase a single, convenient ticket that covers every leg of their journey – including their Southern Vectis bus to Ryde Hoverport, the 10-minute hovercraft crossing to Southsea, and their onward National Express coach travel to towns and cities nationwide.
Available to book online or in person with Hovertravel, the integrated tickets remove the need to arrange multiple bookings separately, offering a seamless, stress-free way to travel from the Island to the mainland and beyond.
Julie Horrocks, Head of Business Development, at Hovertravel, has said:
“We’re always looking for ways to make travel simpler and better value for our customers. These new through-tickets mean passengers can book their entire journey in one go, from their local town on the Island to destinations right across the UK. Combined with our 10-minute Solent crossing and highly competitive prices (such as £35 from Newport to London), it’s a fast, convenient and affordable way to travel.”

Does the Island still offer a Rover Ticket which enabled travellers to pay a monthly fee which allowed unlimited travel on Southern Vectis buses and what is now, Island Line?
£35.00 is great value from Newport to London
BUT WHAT IS THE CHEAPEST HOVERCRAFT CROSSING
RYDE TO PORTSMOUTH??
My guess is that the bus and coach part of the journey
is much cheaper than the quick small solent crossing
on the hovercraft.
