The gentleman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the ‘Bingo Millionaire’ scratchcard from the village newsagents on Saturday before scratching away to reveal a stated £1million prize, which is yet to be confirmed.
News of the win spread through social media over the weekend, however the final amount is yet to be verified by Camelot. Despite this, everything appears to be on course to make the local man a millionaire – one of just four possible winners of the jackpot amount.
A spokesperson for Camelot has told Island Echo that they do not confirm nor deny a win in instances when a winner wishes to remain anonymous.
Nearly two years ago a couple from Ventnor celebrated a life-changing win of £115,000 and decided to go public.
