Motorists are being advised to take extreme care when travelling across the Isle of Wight this morning, with many roads flooded and excessive amounts of surface water on others.
A flood warning has been issued for Carisbrooke and Newport this morning, with Island Echo readers reporting the Lukely River having burst its banks near Foxes Road. Meanwhile a flood alert has been issued for the Eastern Yar and Monktonmead Brook in Ryde.
In Binstead, the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have attended properties in Cemetery Road where flood water and sewage has flooded gardens and threatening to flood properties. Island Roads have cleared drains in the area, which has assisted the relief efforts.
UPDATE @ 12:00: The weather front that has brought over 30mm of rain in 6 hours has now passed across the Island, resulting in flooding quickly subsiding.
