27-year-old Thomas Goodey has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for a number of sexual offences against 2 boys on the Isle of Wight.
Goodey, of Daniel Street, Ryde, was suspended and later dismissed from his role as a performing arts teacher on the Island when the allegations against him came to light back in February.
Portsmouth Crown Court has heard how the 27-year-old met the 2 underage boys through the gay dating app, Grindr. Sexual acts were carried out on 1 of the boys in a hotel room, the other at Goodey’s mother’s house. The offences took place in September and October 2016.
Goodey – known as Thom – had become aware that both boys were under 16 years of age, despite them being on an adult-only app.
Pleading guilty to 5 counts of sexual activity with a child and 1 of causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, Thomas Goodey has been sentenced to a total of 4 years in prison and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register. He is now also subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
