The Island Savoyards have presented a cheque to the Isle of Wight Foodbank totaling £540.
The donation has been made possible thanks to monies raised from the sale of programmes during the group’s latest production, Made In Dagenham.
Made in Dagenham, which was performed at Shanklin Theatre in March, followed the story of the worker’s strike at the Ford factory.
Andrew Woodford of the Island Savoyards said:
“For each production that we put on we always choose a charity to receive 100% of the revenue generated from the programme sales.
“The Isle of Wight Foodbank is such a worthwhile cause. The charity of course needs food donations but a lot of additional funding is required to keep this vital service operating for our Island”.
The Savoyards also raise funds for Public Access Defibrillators and the boxes that house them, most recently at the Fisherman’s Cottage in Shanklin.
