HM Coastguard and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service responded to an incident in Seaview this morning (Wednesday) after a woman fell on the beach.
The alarm was raised at 09:46, prompting the deployment of Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor to assist with the safe extrication of the casualty from the slipway area.
It’s understood she suffered a leg injury.
An ambulance crew and a rapid response paramedic provided initial treatment on scene before conveying the casualty to St Mary’s Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
I count 10 Coastguard types plus paramedics, two CG vehicles plus ambulance. All for one casualty. Just last week at an incident in Cowes alongside a quay, 3 CG vehicles plus ambulance for a single casualty.
