It has been announced this afternoon (Saturday) that the ice rink on Ryde seafront will not close on 25th March as planned, but will instead remain operational until 11th April.
The news means that the Wightlink Raiders ice hockey team can continue to play in the play offs.
It is hoped that the newly formed Ryde Arena Trust, who are in advanced talks with Planet Ice, will take over the business as soon as possible. It is vital that the coolers are not switched off, meaning a deal should ideally be agreed within the next three weeks.
