Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a residential property on Swanmore Road in Ryde.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are on scene with 2 appliances in attendance with main jets, hose jets and breathing apparatus all being used.
They were called to reports of a house fire at around 16:30 this afternoon (Monday) and Swanmore Road is closed as a result.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service is also now in attendance with 2 vehicles including an Operational Commander.
UPDATE @ 17:58 – The scene has now been brought under control and firefighters are packing up their equipment.
1 man has been taken away in an ambulance but entered unassisted and this is thought to be precautionary.
UPDATE @ 18:17 – Both fire appliances and Isle of Wight Ambulance vehicles have now departed but a British Red Cross vehicle is on scene to assist the affected family.
The road has been reopened.
