The Isle of Wight Council’s Licensing Sub-Committee has suspended the premises licence for The Holliers Hotel in Shanklin, after the hotel was raided by Police and more than 250 cannabis plants were seized.
The decision to suspend the licence comes after Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary called for a summary review of the premises licence over concerns of serious crime or disorder linked to the premises.
As previously reported by Island Echo, a drugs raid on 23rd December has led to 3 men being charged in connection with the production of a Class B drug.
A full review hearing is due to take place next month to discuss the future of the hotel’s licence.
The premises must remain closed for all licensable activities until the full hearing takes place, a date for this is still to be confirmed.

Apart from the Companies House entry in May 2016 when Holliers Hotel was struck off, there is no trace of any legitimate owners since.
Questions should be asked as to how these Albanians appear to be connected to Holliers and also their connection to a similar case in Littlehampton with the same surname involved.
But then, when we live in a country run by a bunch of lunatic socialists who put the welfare of foreign criminals above those of law abiding indigenous native Brits, it is hardly surprising
Yes there is…the company is called The Whanau Project of which he (one of the accused) and others are still directors. The Albanian guy is not a director…meaning he was working FOR the legitimate company. Dodgy, certainly, but also commonplace. Don’t imagine it’s always foreigners running stuff like this, it’s most often home grown, as in this case it seems.
That does not mean it’s linked business
Funny how companies house show things as struck off, but the place still trades. Maybe the police should be checking other hotels/pubs around the island. That pub in wroxall needs a search to I reckon. Stinks of the stuff.
They could started a new company with a different name, which is perfectly ok.
Hear hear JS83. Wonder if the miscreants were paying Council Tax?
Now sell it off ..
Another facility shut down, a potential export business. Now we will have to import the stuff and pay more and people thrown out of work. Probably have to keep them as well.
