A drink driver who nearly collided with a traffic island back in October, will learn her fate in the New Year.
Gennive Woolston, 47, of Venner Avenue in Northwood, admitted a single charge of drink driving when she appeared at the Isle of Magistrates Court last week (Friday 28th November).
Prosecuting, Serena Edwards, told the court that on the 31st October at around 21:00, Police received a report from one of Woolston’s family members saying that she was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Police located the 47-year-old on Ashey Road and attempted to stop her, Woolston continued to drive toward Smallbrook Roundabout where she nearly collided with a car and traffic island.
Once she was stopped, a roadside breath test was conducted in which a reading of 108 was returned. The legal limit is 35.
Defending Woolston, Adrian Dodd, said that his client had admitted that she needed help and that help was being sought.
The case was adjourned until the 30th January 2026, to allow a pre-sentence report to be compiled.
Someone with common sense reporting drink driver. If only more people did the same the roads would be safer and the offenders banned from road.
I hope she doesnt go to inclusion,they are utterly useless,go private if you want alcohol treatment,or just say no!

What is actually wrong with these people yeah be an alcoholic who cares but do NOT get behind a wheel and drive, selfish woman luckily she didn’t hurt or kill somebody? Take her licence off of her?
