The Isle of Wight College is pleased to announce that it has secured funding from the Department for Education to help support the delivery of new Level 3 qualifications in the academic year commencing September 2022.
T Levels are an exciting new qualification, equivalent to 3 A Levels, which provides the learner with a carefully balanced delivery of practical, on-the-job experience, alongside academic studies.
This is a minimum of 9 weeks of industry placement, alongside technical studies. The work placement aspect of T Levels is of key focus and learners will be introduced into a highly professional environment from day one of their chosen course.
This new qualification provides an innovative and flexible route for 16-18 year olds, giving them wider options to move straight into the workplace or continue their educational route at a Higher Education level.
The initial T Level areas of study at the Isle of Wight College will be:
- Digital
- Education & Childcare
- Health & Science
- Business & Administration
- Engineering & Manufacturing

“I am delighted with today’s announcement which will enable the college to significantly invest in our equipment and buildings. This ensures students have the opportunity to study in world class facilities, using industry standard specialist equipment, in preparation for progressing into the workplace.”
