Niton and Whitwell Parish Council has said a fond farewell to its long-serving Parish Clerk after 12 years of service.
Vickie Ford has played an instrumental part in enabling the Parish Council to support numerous local initiatives, from maintaining public toilets and recreation grounds to introducing a new all-weather path connecting Niton and Whitwell. She also assisted in the upkeep of a war memorial and freshly painted water hyrdrants.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Vickie was also an invaluable member of the parish community response team – Community Response And Backup (CRAB) – which assisted local residents during times of hardship.
Vickie was presented with a vase made by Isle of Wight Studio Glass by the Parish Council’s new Chairman, Lorraine Sheerin at her last meeting as clerk on Monday evening as a token of the community’s appreciation for her efforts.
