RNLI crew members, observing members of the public and HM Coastguard at Paddock Drive slipway

Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team and Bembridge RNLI have been involved in the recovery of a piece of debris seen floating off Forelands this afternoon (Wednesday).

Solent Coastguard requested the launch of the Bembridge RNLI Inshore Lifeboat at around 15:45 to investigate reports of debris floating in the sea between the lifeboat station and the nearby coastguard station.

The volunteer crew of 3 quickly located the object – a partial hull of a dinghy – and met with Coastguard Officers at Paddock Drive to recover the debris to the shore.
