UPDATED: Firefighters from Ryde have attended a minor two-car collision in the town this evening (Thursday) which has resulted in a road becoming blocked.
Emergency services including paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were alerted to an incident on Queens Road at the junction with Pellhurst Road shortly after 20:00.
A Land Rover and a red Fiat Doblo have been involved in the collision, which has been made safe by the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
Motorists are being advised by Island Roads to avoid the area, with traffic unable to exit Queens Road.
Southern Vectis Routes 4 and 9 between Ryde and Newport are being diverted via Argyll Street until further notice.
No one has been seriously injured in the collision, which has resulted in damage to both vehicles.
UPDATE @ 21:02 – Southern Vectis buses have now resumed a normal route.
The incident has been cleared allowing traffic to travel through Queens Road.
One male has been taken to hospital.
