UPDATED: Fire crews have this afternoon been called to reports of a flat fire in East Cowes.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at Kelsey Court on York Avenue at just before 14:25.
Firefighters from Ryde, Newport and East Cowes are currently attending the scene alongside the Incident Command Unit from Newport Fire Station.
UPDATED @ 15:40 – Firefighters have entered the building wearing breathing apparatus and have successfully rescued a dog from the first floor flat.
All persons have been accounted for and the fire has been extinguished.
